A haiku I wrote was read on the radio. On the 31st of December, a local radio program, The Conversation, on KUOW FM 94.9 in Seattle had a program about events during the past year of 2003. All the big news shows and newspapers and magazines are running lists of milestones and significant events of the past year, but this was for more personal kinds of things. I wrote the following haiku. A haiku is a pown with 17 syllables, 5 in the first line, 7 in the second line and 5 in the third and last line. Here is the I wrote, which was read during the program:Cynthia ----- In August, she died. The grief counselor said this, you are not alone. I wrote this about Cynthia Doyon, a radio announcer who I listened to for over 20 years, and miss like she had been a member of my family. There are a few other entries about Cynthia below and in the archives linked in the left column.
