Private Jessica Lynch has returned home Last week, on the 21st of July, I watched Jessica Lynch return home. There was a great celebration. There is some doubt as to exactly what was that happened. It is possible all of her injuries were sustained in an accident, and not the result of enemy fire. She does not remember much, at least not much which has been revealed. I suspect there was a combination of things which resulted in her injuries. All I know, is that she survived, and it was a combination of efforts by Iraqi citizens and Army Special Forces which resulted in her being returned home as quickly as she was. The most important person, in my opinion, was the one Iraqi lawyer who contacted the American forces to tell them of her whereabouts and provided additional information which allowed the Special Forces to go in and get her out. This one man, whose name I do not know, did a great service with little thought of consequences to himself. He could have been killed for assiting the American forces, but he did it anyway, out of a sense of honor. I salute this man for his actions. I would like to thank him personally. He did a great service for another with little thought of himself. This act was in the highest tradtions of honorable acts. I hope this man is safe and well and his family is with him. I seem to remember hearing he and his family were evacuated from Iraq and they all have been relocated here in the USA or maybe to somewhere in the Middle East? I hope my memory is correct and he and his family are safe and well. Now that the "war" is over, he and his family can return to their home. I heard on the radio that the ABC network is rethinking their movie they were considering on Jessica Lynch. I'll bet. It isn't the action packed thing they thought it was I guess. Well, I am sorry to hear there probably will not be a movie. Jessica Lynch was 19 years old at the time. She was called upon in a time of war to perform, and she did. She upheld the highest traditions of the armed forces and for this, I think she should still be honored, maybe not as the focal point but at least part of the bigger story of those few days. I wish her well.
