I watched another "feel good" movie with John Candy. I miss John Candy. This was a guy who had it all going for him and was overweight and it finally killed him. I first remember seeing John Candy doing Second City TV which I think originally came from Canada. I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego as I recall. Ever since then, I have been a fan of John Candy. The movie I watched was "The Great Outdoors" with Dan Ackroyd. I saw a couple of others recently, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and "Uncle Buck." All of these are good natured, family oriented, feel good movies, my favorite kind of movie to watch. There are so many movies which I have seen and felt were OK, but not movies I would pay to see again. Most everything that John Candy has appeared in is worth seeing again. I think one of my favorite parts was when he played a cop in "The Blues Brothers" which was a bit part, but still, a great performance. He is one actor, that I will go out of my way to see. I guess the reason is that he always looked like he was having a great time while doing whatever movie he was in. He seemed to just enjoy it to no end. I hope the truth of the matter is that he DID have a great time acting. I would have hated for him to not enjoy doing the work he did.
