I just love chicken soup, don't you?
I just finished lunch. Last week, I made some chicken soup from a recipe that my mother gave me a long time ago, and froze the leftovers. Today, for a change of pace, I steamed some white rice instead of making a sandwich as I usually do with soup. I thawed out a pint of soup and added the rice. I popped it all into the microwave and brought it to a boil for a couple of minutes and let it all cook together. Then, I let it sit for a bit to cool enough to eat while I added a couple of blog entries and then, I totally enjoyed it, down to the very last drop at the bottom of the bowl! I do not know about your chicken soup, but mine is chunky, with big pieces of chicken, not like the watery stuff in cans from the store. Anyway, here it is, a cool day, partly cloudy outside, and I just had a bowl of chicken/rice soup and I feel really good with the world, all warm inside, feeling satisfied and comfortable. I think I'll finish this entry and listen to the radio for a bit, and enjoy the fact that I am alive...
