Monumental events culminating in I don't know what
I don't know what it is, but this past week and then some have yielded several monumental events.
I woke up at 2 AM and could NOT go back to sleep, so I wrote this.
Traci Schiavo died from starvaton, dehydration or both. I can not understand how depriving a person of food and water is a humane way to let someone die, no matter what the condition or lack thereof, of the brain. Brain damaged, yes, unfeeling and unaware, I can't say. This went to a vote in Congress and the Supreme Court! Yikes! I wish these twits would put the same energy into getting out of Iraq and Afganistan.
Johnny Cochran, the lawyer who sucessfully defended O. J. Simpson, died.
The Pope, the leader of the largest organized religion, died.
On April 1, 1989, I became a civilian after 21 years of service in the US Navy. I signed the papers to enlist on January 4, 1968.
On April 6, 1968, I was married in the 1st Unitarian Church in San Jose, California. The Lady and I divorced on March 19, 1979. In 1973, we had a son who is now 31 years old. This would have been my 37th wedding anniversary.
I was more wrapped up in the West Wing Democratic convention story line than I have EVER been in real politics at any point in my life. (Spoiler, maybe: I think it was CJ [Allison Janey... I wonder what it would be like to date a 6' tall babe in heels...the mere thought boggles the mind.] who leaked the story about the secret military shuttle to the press.)
See? Some mighty important events, yessireebob...youbetcha...uh, huh...yep.
