Another Maury Povich moment
This is just so sad. A lady has 2 daughters. She has appeared 4 times previously and had 7 different men tested to see who the father is of her 2 children. None of the 7 were the father of either child. Now, she's back for a 5th time, with a 3rd child and an 8th man to be tested. It turns out this guy is the father of her 3rd child. She still does not know who the father(s) are of her other 2 children. The rest of the program was in a similar vein, mothers who have returned multiple times to have men tested. What struck me is how many men these women think is the father. Each of these women were "sure" they had the right man. Look, I know a little something about biology and there is a finite period of time when a woman is fertile, only a few of days out of the month. Counting backwards from the date of birth, should give a rather narrow window of opportunity, wouldn't you think? So how come this 1st woman has 7 men tested, and the 2nd woman 3 men, and both women were SURE they had the right man, and were wrong, so that means there are even more men they had relations with during that brief period of opportunity that are still out there. After about 10 or 12 minutes, I couldn't take any more of this. At this point, I switched channels to my local news to see how the snow was doing over the Seattle metro area. I have gotten about 6 inches more in front since I got up this morning when there was only an inch, or maybe two, on the ground. Anyway, I feel sad about these women, that they don't know who the father of their child is, but then I wonder, why test so many? My skeptical side says these women might already know these men are not the father and are doing this just to get on the show and it all is just an act. I guess I'm just old-fashioned in my thinking, but so many men during a relatively short period... I just wonder about it all. Are these women and men being paid to appear on this show? Is this just a scam for these people to get money and Maury Povich to get ratings or what?
