A "feminist crusader" has sent me an anonymous email accusing me of objectifying women. A reply to this email resulted in a bounced email, so the address was forged, or ceased to exist for some reason. Since I can't reply directly to discuss this person to person, I decided to make this entry. The term "feminist crusader" is my own for this particular person, not a term this person used in a self-description. A few entries back, I commented on observing a woman as I followed her into a store from a parking lot, her dress was blown by the wind, and I saw her stocking tops and garters briefly. I was amazed to see this sight, in this era of pantyhose and tights, which is what prompted me to make the entry at seeing such an unusual, and I admit pleasing, sight. The entry was simply me appreciating this woman, not objectifying her. To the person who wrote me on this topic, I say this; just look at the hour long Victoria Secret lingerie fashion show in prime time on television recently with all of that bare skin and skimpy material and then tell me again about how I am objectifying women by writing about a glimpse of nylon stocking tops and garters under a skirt blown by the wind. I appreciate women. I respect women. I love to watch women. I love knowing women. I'm just a normal guy. I've married 2 women (Not at the same time! You have a dirty mind.) and I have lived with a few more for shorter periods of time. There wasn't a one of them that I would consider objectifying. All the women I've known have been wonderful women. Of course, as a man, sometimes I think women are speaking a foreign language and might just be from outer space with a different type of logic than my own guy logic. At times, to my guy mind, "feminine logic" seems a contradiction in terms, but then what do I know? According to the anonymous email, my sole purpose in writing about women as I did, is to objectify women... You be the judge.
