Once again, it is HOT in here!
Today, even though it was overcast in the morning, it reached a high of 85 degrees F. As I am entering this at 1900 PDT (GMT-7), it is starting to cool off outside, but it is 83 degrees here in the living room where the computer is located. I have my windows all open fully and a fan in one of them to pull in some of the cooler air from outside. My outside thermometer says it is cooler outside than inside. It is not getting any cooler inside, yet. It has been at 83 ever since I came home from a day trip to the other side of the Hood Canal to look at some property which is up for sale. I got home about an hour ago. I do NOT like being hot! I tend to get irritable when I am hot. I can tell I am not in the best of moods at the moment. I moved here (The Pacific Northwest) because it is NOT supposed to be like this! It is supposed to be cooler, but not so cold that it snows in the winter as I have a thing about snow as well, preferring not to have to slog through it ever again. I grew up in Illinois just outside of Chicago, and I grew to hate shoveling the driveway and months of snow on the ground. Anyway, I'll be glad when it starts raining again. Here in the Pacific Northwest, where I live at least, we have on average 57 days of sunshine, i.e. without rain and cloud cover. The ongoing joke is that we have an annual rain festival which extends from January 1st to December 31st, and as a bonus includes a free trip around the sun! Even though we only see it for 57 days on average...I need to get an air conditioner, or a heat pump. I wonder what my utility bill would be. Hmmmm, probably not worth it to overhaul the entire heating system to add air conditioning and it would boost my monthly bill. I guess I'll just suffer and rely on a small fan to circulate the air so I can sleep in spite of the heat. Time to take a break and refill my glass of ice water.
