Racism and substance abuse were parts of his job, says Jayson Blair. The bastard fabricated news stories and got fired and now he has a literary agent to handle his public appearances. This is what you get for being hired as a reporter for the New York Times and get fired after you blatantly lie about your reporting and get discovered in committing fraud. How many other people who lie about their job performance can get a book deal like this twerp? The average joe like you or me would just end up on the short end of the stick, but not this guy, he's black and he has been descriminated against, and that makes it all OK for him to lie and steal and now he is playing the race card to get away with it all. I want to see some prosecution. Let's get some high profile lawyers involved in this case. I think there have been some sort of laws broken here, somewhere, somehow. Take this guy to court and if he is found guilty, make him suffer for his transgressions against the public. There is something very wrong with this picture of a black man, a result of affirmative action, making a profit from lying and deceit. He gives a bad name to all of his comtemporaries. In my humble opinion, if guilty, he should be punsihed and made the example to others who follow that this is totally unacceptable behavior. Sue the bastard! Let us not reward him with a book deal for being dishonest and a fraud. Why is it that these people get the status of some kind of celebrity for doing wrong, for doing bad things? Why do they get rewarded for this form of bad judgement and poor behavior? Why can't I get a book deal? By the way, in the news on May 21st, I heard he is bragging and laughing about how this is going, and how he had his stories corrected in the newspaper that he fooled for so long. It is bad enough that he fabricated news stories but now that he is laughing about it all really irks the hell out of me! I want this guy to suffer. He lied to us all, is a dubious celebrity because he got caught at it, and is going to be rewarded for it all. There is something really wrong with that picture.
